Desiring to grow in prayer, five Holy Family parishioners are attending the Encounter School of Ministry at St. Ann. The goal of the school is: “Drawing from the richness of our Catholic heritage and identity, Encounter School of Ministry exists to teach, equip, and activate disciples to demonstrate the love of God through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
The five of us, along with others from the school, desire to bring “the love of God through the Holy Spirit” to you, through prayer teams. Please join us at this Prayer Service after the 5:30 pm Mass, on March 15, in our main church. The session will begin with general prayer calling down the Holy Spirit. After the general prayer, multiple prayer teams will be positioned around the altar for individual, personal prayer. After the opening prayer, feel free to join in prayer with any open prayer team.
Why should we intercede for one another in this way? Here are two reasons.
Jesus tells us that He loves us so much that He desires to work through us, in John 14:12-14: “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do greater ones than these, because I am going to the Father. And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorifies in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it.”
Robby Dawkins says it this way: “Because it is God’s wisdom and good pleasure to assign part of His Will to flow from our prayers of intercession for each other.”
We hope you plan on joining us in this powerful way to pray during Lent.
