Congratulations, you're getting married! You may need to know what to do next. Please call the parish office and make a prenuptial appointment at least six months prior to your desired wedding date with our lay Family Ministry Associate or priest.
As you and your fianc(e)é prepare for marriage, Holy Family of Nazareth is committed to helping you as a couple build a firm foundation for your future marriage. In order to provide this firm foundation marriage preparation is required by the Church before celebrating the Sacrament of Matrimony. We encourage you to register for marriage formation as soon as possible.
Preparing for Sacramental Marriage Formation for Marriage is a process that focuses on skills for married life and faith formation as an essential ingredient for the journey of Christian marriage. The goal is to help couples develop an understanding marriage from a Catholic perspective and provide opportunities to learn and develop skills in areas such as communication, family of origin, conscience development, intimacy building, and family formation.
Formation is held in a group setting for eight sessions at Holy Family. Mentor couples attend the sessions with the engaged providing real life experience and facilitating discussions on subjects key to life-long marriage. Offered two times a year at HFN, generally starting in August and January. Please see the calendar for exact start dates or call the parish office. The registration form with more information is available here.
MARRIAGE FORMATION REGISTRATION
Formation in a couple-to-couple ministry in the home of the sponsor couple is offered on an as-needed basis. The sponsor couple mentors the engaged facilitating discussions of the same topics used in the group format at church.
