Deacon George Chou was born and raised in Taiwan. He received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. After serving two years of military duty in Taiwan, he came to the US to pursue an advanced degree and graduated with a Master’s degree in Computer Science in 1980. At the time, he did not have a religious belief. Before being baptized into the Catholic Church in his late 30s, he spent some time studying and researching Buddhism in the search for Truth. However, on his journey in finding Truth, Fr. Moses Chu accompanied him for more than three years and finally led him into the Catholic family on Christmas Eve in 1989. Since then, he has found the right direction of his faith journey and hungers for church teaching.

Deacon George studied and was ordained as a deacon in 2013. He serves the church through ministering of the Word, Sacrament, and Charity. He assisted his previous parish’s RCIA program, led a Bible study, and served the Altar. At the diocesan level, Deacon George is the commissioner of the Liturgical Committee and the Spiritual Director of the Legion of Mary Queen of Peace Comitium of the Diocese of Dallas.

Deacon George has been married for 41 years with two beautiful and talented daughters Christina and Jerilyn. He is also the proud grandfather of four wonderful grandchildren, Journee, Salyer, Patrick Junior, and Brislyn.
